New metal detectors
Crime and security were added to agriculture, forest management, and contamination detection as areas of application for VALLON products. As of 1976, special metal detectors met the demand from the state and the police. In 1977, Gerhard Vallon became the managing director of his father’s company. He recognized and seized the opportunities inherent in globalization early on, attending international trade shows and establishing the global sales network that would later become a key pillar of the family-run company’s continued success.
VALLON launched its first compact metal detector in 1976, the MH 1602, which was ideal for scanning persons.
Criminal Investigation Departments were making their requirements for crime scene investigations more complex. VALLON answered with the ML 1650 metal detector. It was designed for differentiating between ferrous and non-ferrous metals, making it easier to find bullet cases.
