VALLON at the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024 in Berlin, 11-12 June
VALLON participated in the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2024) in Berlin.
This important event brought together leaders from governments, international organisations, business and civil society to strengthen international support for Ukraine's recovery, reconstruction, reform and modernisation.
The conference opened with keynote addresses from Olaf Scholz, Chancellor of Germany, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.
The session on "Protection of Civilians and Ukraine's Strategic Priorities in Humanitarian Mine Action" featured dialogues with Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, and Dr Tobias Lindner, Minister of State at the German Foreign Office.
The discussions highlighted the critical role of mine action in Ukraine, noting that approximately 24% of the country's territory is affected by landmines and unexploded ordnance, posing a significant obstacle to reconstruction efforts. Dr Tobias Lindner concluded: "Together we can make a difference".
At VALLON, we remain committed to improving Ukraine's security and resilience by providing the high quality metal detectors and magnetometers that are essential for effective demining. As the conference concluded, we remain hopeful about the collaborative synergies and positive impact we can achieve together.
Together we make the world safer.
