VALLON News Training of Ukrainian female deminers in Kosovo

Capacity building for Ukraine: female deminers train in Kosovo

The large number of explosive ordnance in Ukraine requires qualified specialists for clearance. In Kosovo, Ukrainian participants learn professional mine detection. Training with the VMH3CS metal detector provides the practical skills for this responsible task.

Practice-oriented training

05.2022. In Kosovo, female Ukrainian deminers are being trained. The participants are learning how to use metal detectors and how to conduct systematic searches for explosive ordnance. This qualification will enable them to make an important contribution to security in their home country after their return.

Technical basis

The VMH3CS is used as a proven metal detector in the training. Its ergonomic design supports the work even during longer search operations. The detector can be adapted to different tasks using different search coils:

  • mine detection in different ground conditions
  • detection of explosive ordnance (UXO)
  • adaptation to specific search scenarios
  • Prospects

The training creates prospects in several ways:

  • Qualified specialists for explosive ordnance disposal
  • Career prospects for the participants
  • Contribution to security in the affected regions

Media coverage, such as the Tagesschau report, highlights the importance of these training programs for overcoming the explosive ordnance burden in Ukraine.
